Marketing Strategies:

Working as an independent developer, it will be up to me to sell my game and generate as much public interest as possible. To do this, I will use primarily different social media platforms in order to promote and post regular updates with tags (that will allow new people to discover my project). With how the internet and social media culture has evolved/developed over the last century, it makes sense to make it the primary form of communication between the game and its target audience.

Social Media Platforms I will make new accounts on for the game:

Twitter:

Twitter is still a popular platform, especially for regular, daily posts and artwork. There are very large communities that make use of different tags to share their work to appropriate audiences. I can benefit, by doing the same, for the development of this game. In order to maintain audience interest, posting every day will be the goal. However, personally I am not very good at being active on social media, so if I am able to post at least once a week - that will be a good baseline expectation.

Instagram:

Instagram, being an app that focuses on visual content - will be a good platform to show physical work like: assets, renderings, colours, drawings, sketches, planning, etc. Similar to twitter, it is recommended to post every day to keep audience retention and follower counts high. Not posting regularly can result in people losing interest as there is nothing new being shared regarding the project and its development. I will also aim to post at least once a week and if possible - more often.

Extra:

My Personal Accounts:

Using my personal Instagram account, I can begin generating interest, by tagging my new account in attempts to interest my follower base. Additionally, when I create a new post on the game account, I will be able to advertise it on my personal account’s story. This can also lead to people clicking/tapping their way to the game page and interacting.

Furthermore, I intend to keep posting regular updates on my personal LinkedIn Page. This way I can generate more professional interest for my project whilst promoting my personal LinkedIn account which can later prove to have its own benefits (such as creating more connections and thus assisting my career development).
