My game contains a lot of differences to stand out against its competitors. Within the parkour game genre, it is difficult to stand out, as all the games typically have a very similar move sets- meaning that the execution and other aspects of the game are what make it “unique”. Project N.U.W is set in a previously unused location - Fukushima nuclear reactor and incorporates environmental puzzles without guidance or assistance. This is because, to achieve simulation the game will be designed in a way that makes it hard and relies entirely, on the player’s path choices. They will be able to select either going through “more obvious” exists, or re-arranging and navigating different assets in order to escape another way. The journey is the experience, with the exit being the same regardless of how you get there.
As well as that, my game will focus on highlighting the devastation to the environment that was caused both by the tsunami and nuclear reactor. This is designed to keep real-life accuracy, educating the player on the devastation and keeping the game intense.
All of these things combined with my art style, sound effects, assets will result in a different breed of parkour game that is not simply designed for the purpose of a game, but one to challenge you and develop your adaptability skills.
